A Note for Utah's Raw Milk Producers

We're building a retail home for the work you're already doing.

The Melk Stand is a raw milk drive-thru coming to the Wasatch Front. The purpose of this page is to tell you who we are, what we're building, and how we'd handle your milk if we partnered together.

Why We're Doing This

Our family's eyes were opened to the importance of healthy ingredients — and healthy sources — when we discovered that the cure to our daughter's autoimmune struggles was simply natural foods. She wasn't lactose intolerant or celiac, despite the diagnoses. She didn't need steroids for her skin, a low-FODMAP diet, or any of the other things that seemed to kind of help, sometimes, and sometimes not. She just needed real food.

That experience is why we're building The Melk Stand. We believe in it despite its commercial challenges, and we expect many dairies feel the same way. We're confident in our logistics plan, our location, and the future of the natural dairy industry of Utah. We want this project to be a family business that lasts generations and to become a substantial retail presence on the Wasatch Front that honors what hard-working dairies do. We're excited to serve customers who need this as much as our family did.

What We're Building

A drive-thru.

We're nostalgic about the days when Winder Dairy had drive-throughs. Our primary goal is to augment and differentiate what that used to be with a small physical retail location on the Wasatch Front where customers can drive through and pick up raw milk by the cup or gallon, hand-spun raw milk shakes, and fresh-cut fries fried in 100% beef tallow. No grocery aisle. No third-party distribution. No interstate sales.

We're building under Utah's Raw-for-Retail framework and the SB108 mobile-unit provision. UDAF permitting is in process.

How We'd Handle Your Milk

Cold chain, traceability, and attention to detail.

We treat your product the same way you do — because the way we handle it after it leaves your dock is the only thing standing between your reputation and our customers.

Your Name on Your Milk

You're elevated and up in front by default.

Every gallon, every cup, every receipt names the producing dairy. Your brand on the menu board. Your name on the label. The point of this place is that the customer knows whose milk they're drinking — and that the dairy behind it gets seen.

If you'd rather not be named publicly, we honor that — it's your call, not ours. But our default is full credit, because we think you've earned it.

What Partnership Looks Like

Modest at first.

We hope volume grows quickly. Realistically, our practical floor at opening is on the order of 50–100 gallons per week per producing dairy in the first 60 days, with room to grow as the stand proves out demand. We'd rather start small and earn the right to scale than overcommit and force you to absorb shortfalls on our behalf.

We're open on contract structure — term length, termination terms. We'd rather start a conversation about what works for your operation than show up with a one-size-fits-all template.

What We Won't Do

A short list of guardrails.

Why This Matters

Lifting the floor for raw dairy in Utah.

A real raw-milk retail presence on the Wasatch Front isn't a zero-sum thing. It expands the audience beyond on-farm pickup, normalizes the product for customers who haven't found their way to a dairy yet, and gives Utah's producers a stable, public-facing channel that respects the way you already operate.

That's the bet behind The Melk Stand. The dairies are the foundation. We're just a storefront.

Who's Behind This

Operator track record.

The Melk Stand is one of several Utah-registered operating businesses under a single holding company. We've built and run companies that work under federal and state regulatory scrutiny, and we treat that experience as transferable to UDAF and the raw milk framework.

If any of this resonates, let's have a conversation.

Thirty minutes, on the phone or in person. No pitch deck, no commitment. Just a chance for us to learn about your operation and for you to hear how we'd work together.

Let's talk milk.

Raw milk products, no matter how carefully produced, may be unsafe. The Melk Stand sources from Utah dairies. Keep refrigerated. Consume at your own discretion. Risks are greater for infants, young children, elderly individuals, pregnant women, and those with compromised immune systems.
